What to Cook This Spring

A new season is always a great time to experiment with new dishes and flavors in the kitchen. One of the best parts about cooking in the spring is the emphasis on light meals, with lots of fruits and vegetables, perfect for a warm spring day. The team at Picture Keeper got thinking and have some great recommendations to get your spring cooking off to a great start. And the best part? Just like with backing up your photos, we found recipes that are simple but sure to please:

1. Vegetable Stir Fry

We love this one because there is no right or wrong answer, you make this your own. Some vegetables that not only are great in a stir fry but are in season are broccoli, carrots, peas, bok choy, and spinach, just to name a few. Check out what’s at your local farmer’s market or grocery store. Check out this recipe from Buzzfeed to get started. There are even pictures and videos to take you step by step.

2. Chicken Tacos

We are really big fans of Mexican food here at Picture Keeper (some of our employees pick chips and salsa over cake during birthday celebrations it’s that serious), so we are always looking for yummy and easy recipes. This recipe from Belle of the Kitchen is perfect, especially for those who work during the day. Throw everything in the slow cooker and done!

3. Smoothies

Whether you are looking for a quick go-to for breakfast, or a late day snack, a smoothie is always a great option. You can’t beat the benefits (and taste) of yummy fruit! If you are feeling extra bold, throw in some kale or spinach too! We love this easy recipe from Pinch of Yum. We’re warning you now they will be your new food blog obsession!

4. Veggie Salad

A salad is always a great go-to, whether you are looking for it to be a side dish, or your main course. This recipe from Always Ravenous is perfect because as she says, the variations are limitless! We must admit this picture makes us pretty hungry for a salad!

5. Strawberry Shortcake

You didn’t think we’d skip dessert did you? This is the kind of dessert we like to have on a picture perfect spring day, and it’s ideal for a spring picnic with family and friends. Check out the recipe from allrecipes.com!
