What Size Picture Keeper Connect is Right for You?

Picture Keeper Connect comes in three sizes: 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB. All offer the secure backups and transfers, and all use the same Picture Keeper app. The only real difference, then, is storage space, which may leave you wondering what size Picture Keeper is the right one for you. It’s an important question, and while we can’t give you an exact answer, we’ll help guide you through the decision process.

How do You Use Your Phone?

Determining what kind of Picture Keeper is right for you requires you to take a careful look at how you use your phone. If you’re a casual photographer, the 16GB Picture Keeper should be all you need. If, however, you’re an avid photographer, the 32 GB model might be better. And if you take lengthy videos as well as photos, the 64 GB drive is probably best.

Megapixels and Storage

Digital photos are made up of billions of tiny dots called pixels. Your phone camera’s resolution is expressed in megapixels. Each megapixel represents one million pixels.

Higher megapixels produce higher resolution photos, which helps you take better quality pictures. The downside is that the higher your camera’s resolution, the more space each image takes up in the device’s memory.

The chart below shows how many photos the three sizes of Picture Keeper Connect can hold, using photos taken at six, twelve, and twenty-four megapixels as examples:

16 GB 32GB 64 Gb
6MP 8,000 photos 16,000 32,000
12MP 4,000 8,000 16,000
24 MP 1,000 2,000 4,000

More is Better than Less

When choosing flash drives, more is always better than less. If you purchase a 16 GB drive and discover you need 20 GB of storage, you’d be better served by a 32 GB drive, even if you never fill the remaining 12 GB.

Unlike most flash drives, however, Picture Keeper Connect has a trick up its sleeve. If you fill one Picture Keeper, simply buy another. When you plug it into your phone, the Picture Keeper app determines where your last drive finished backing up and continues from there.

So this brings us back to the same question: what size Picture Keeper is right for you? Ideally, you make the right choice with your first purchase, but if you run out of room, we’ve got your back.
