1st Place: Sanah J.

First place scholarship winner

As a young seventh grader, Sanah woke up to find all of her hair on her pillow. Her life was soon changed forever when she was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis. Along with her new diagnosis, Sanah faced a battle with bullying and self-hatred. Sanah states, “I realized that no matter what people said to me, the things I said to myself were much worse. I decided to start living my life with a focus on self love.”

With Sanah’s positive outlook, she began accepting herself and made it her mission to spread joy to others. She soon started a non-profit organization called the Love Your Natural Self Foundation. This non-profit brings a curriculum focused on self-love to over 100 middle school and high school campuses. In the picture, you can see Sanah standing in front of a crowd sharing her story, and beginning her dream to spread her message of self-love.

The University of Texas at San Antonio student has dreams to see an International Day of Self Love celebrated in every school. Sanah explains, “I believe everyone deserves to celebrate who they are.”

3rd Place: Brinnen S.

Third place scholarship winner
