What to Cook this Labor Day

Labor Day is right around the corner and I’m sure you’re busy creating your weekend itinerary, decorating, and prepping for all of your friends and family! We’ve put together a few recipes and ideas to help get your weekend menu started.

Fire Up the Grill

Nothing better than a good cookout for Labor Day weekend! You can stick to the classic options, such as burgers, hotdogs, or ribs, OR spice things up with a little added fun. Find unique ways to present your hamburgers by making them sliders, adding fun toppings like guacamole, or using tomatoes as buns! For hot dogs, you can even use pickles as buns for the pickle-lovers! Skewers are also great options to present a variety of options fresh off the grill.

Shrimp Boil Fun

A shrimp boils is perfect for a large group! It’s fun to sit around, enjoy a drink, and wait for the boil to be complete. Then you can dump it all on a table and go from there. It’s a lot of fun for the kids too!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Skewers

Try something a little different with the chicken bacon ranch skewers! They might not be your healthiest option for the weekend, but they sure are delicious.

Grilled Georgia Peaches

Add something a little healthier to the mix with grilled fruit. Grilled peaches are especially delicious – but we may be biased since we’re based out of Georgia!

Cocktails, cocktails, cocktails!

Mojitos, margaritas, moscow mules, and more! There are so many summery cocktail options that are must at your Labor Day party.

Easy Mini Cheesecakes

These things are EASY and delicious for a Labor Day grab-and-go dessert! Simply line a muffin pan with muffin liners and add a Vanilla Wafer (or crushed up Graham Crackers mixed with some butter) as the crust. For the cheesecake filling, blend together 16 oz of cream cheese, ½ tsp vanilla extract, ½ cup of sugar, and 2 eggs. Fill the muffin pans, place in the refrigerator overnight, and top with your favorite fruit!

Whatever you decide to cook this Labor Day weekend, nothing is quite as important as the memories made with your family and friends. There are plenty of activities to celebrate Labor Day weekend, and be sure to snap good photos and back them up using Picture Keeper!
